1. Definitions

"Precision3D", "I", "me", or "my" refers to Precision3D Ltd, a professional 3D printing and additive manufacturing bureau operating throughout the United Kingdom.

"Client", "you", or "your" refers to the individual, company, or organisation commissioning 3D printing services, purchasing printed parts, or engaging my design and consultation services.

"Services" refers to all 3D printing, additive manufacturing, 3D scanning, reverse engineering, post-processing, design consultation, and related activities provided by Precision3D.

"Parts" or "Prints" refers to any physical objects, prototypes, models, components, or products manufactured by Precision3D using additive manufacturing technologies.

2. Quotation & Pricing

All quotations are provided based on the 3D model files, specifications, and requirements supplied by the client at the time of enquiry. Quotations remain valid for 14 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated in writing.

Pricing is determined by a combination of factors including print technology, material selection, part volume, build time, quantity, post-processing requirements, and turnaround priority. Express 24-hour turnaround carries an additional surcharge as detailed in the quotation.

All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and are exclusive of VAT unless explicitly stated otherwise. VAT will be applied at the prevailing rate on all invoices issued to UK clients.

Should the scope of a project change after a quotation has been accepted, I reserve the right to issue a revised quotation reflecting the updated requirements. No additional work will proceed without written client approval of the revised pricing.

3. Payment

New Clients: Payment in full is required before production commences on all first-time orders. I accept bank transfer, Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal.

Account Clients: Approved account clients may receive invoices with payment due within 30 days of the invoice date. Late payments are subject to interest at 3% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily from the due date.

Large Orders: Orders exceeding £1,000 may require a non-refundable deposit of 50% before production begins, with the balance payable prior to dispatch. Deposits will be detailed in the quotation where applicable.

4. File Requirements & Intellectual Property Submission

Clients are responsible for supplying 3D model files in a compatible format. I accept STL, OBJ, STEP, IGES, and 3MF file formats. Files must be manifold (watertight), correctly scaled, and free from errors that would prevent successful printing.

My design team will review all submitted files for printability at no charge. If errors are found, I will notify the client and offer to repair the file for a nominal fee or provide guidance for the client to correct the issue themselves.

By submitting files to Precision3D, the client warrants that they own or have obtained all necessary intellectual property rights, licences, and permissions to reproduce the design. Precision3D accepts no liability for infringement claims arising from designs supplied by the client.

All client files are treated as strictly confidential and are stored securely. I do not share, reproduce, or use client designs for any purpose other than fulfilling the commissioned order unless explicitly authorised in writing.

5. Production & Turnaround

Standard Turnaround: Most orders are completed within 3-5 working days from confirmation of order and receipt of payment. Complex or large-volume orders may require additional time, which will be communicated at the quotation stage.

Express Turnaround: My 24-hour express service is available for orders placed and confirmed before 10am on a working day. Express orders are subject to availability and may be limited by machine capacity and material stock.

Turnaround times are estimated and not guaranteed. Precision3D shall not be liable for delays caused by equipment failure, material supply disruption, force majeure, or circumstances beyond my reasonable control. I will notify the client promptly of any anticipated delays.

6. Delivery

I deliver to all UK mainland addresses via tracked courier service. Standard delivery is typically 1-2 working days from dispatch. Next-day and Saturday delivery options are available at additional cost.

Delivery to Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, and Isle of Man may incur additional shipping charges and extended delivery times. International shipping is available on request.

All parts are carefully packaged to prevent damage during transit. The client must inspect deliveries on receipt and report any damage or discrepancies within 48 hours of delivery. Claims for transit damage submitted after this period may not be accepted.

Risk of loss or damage passes to the client upon delivery to the specified address. Title to the goods remains with Precision3D until full payment has been received.

7. Tolerances & Quality

3D printed parts are manufactured to the best achievable tolerances of the selected printing technology. Typical dimensional tolerances are as follows:

  • FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling): +/- 0.5mm or +/- 0.5% of the nominal dimension, whichever is greater
  • SLA (Stereolithography): +/- 0.15mm or +/- 0.2% of the nominal dimension, whichever is greater
  • SLS (Selective Laser Sintering): +/- 0.3mm or +/- 0.3% of the nominal dimension, whichever is greater
  • MJF (Multi Jet Fusion): +/- 0.3mm or +/- 0.3% of the nominal dimension, whichever is greater

Surface finish, layer visibility, and minor cosmetic imperfections are inherent characteristics of additive manufacturing and are not considered defects unless they fall outside the agreed specification for the order.

All production is carried out under my ISO 9001 quality management system. Parts undergo inspection before dispatch, and certificates of conformity are available on request for an additional charge.

8. Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled without charge at any time before production has commenced. Once printing has started, cancellation is not possible and the full order value remains payable.

For orders requiring a deposit, the deposit is non-refundable once production has commenced. If cancellation is requested before production begins, the deposit will be refunded in full within 10 working days.

Precision3D reserves the right to cancel an order at any stage if I determine that the design infringes intellectual property rights, requests illegal content, or cannot be safely or satisfactorily manufactured. In such cases, any payments received will be refunded in full.

9. Returns & Reprints

Due to the bespoke nature of 3D printed parts, returns are not accepted unless the part is demonstrably defective or fails to meet the agreed specification. The client must notify me of any quality concerns within 7 days of receipt.

Where a part is confirmed as defective or non-conforming, Precision3D will, at my discretion, either reprint the part at no additional cost or issue a full refund. I may request the return of the defective part for quality investigation purposes.

Parts printed accurately to the client's supplied file are not eligible for return or reprint if the client's design contains errors. My free file review service is offered specifically to mitigate this risk, and I strongly encourage all clients to take advantage of it.

10. Limitation of Liability

Precision3D's total liability for any claim arising from my services shall not exceed the total value of the order in question. I shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of business, or project delays arising from defective or late delivery of printed parts.

3D printed parts are not certified for use in life-critical, medical implant, or safety-of-flight applications unless explicitly agreed in writing with supporting documentation. The client assumes full responsibility for determining the suitability of printed parts for their intended use.

Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

11. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in designs, files, and creative works produced by Precision3D's design team remain the property of Precision3D until full payment has been received, at which point rights transfer to the client unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Precision3D retains the right to photograph completed projects for portfolio and marketing purposes unless the client requests confidentiality in writing before the order is placed. No client-identifying information will be disclosed without explicit written consent.

All content on the Precision3D website, including text, images, logos, and design assets, is the property of Precision3D Ltd. Reproduction without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

12. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. My failure to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

For any questions regarding these terms, please contact me at enquiries@precision3dprint.co.uk.
